Goal: To look at music in a different way.
Objectives: Understand and express yourself through the music.
Before Day 1
1. Have a cd of your favorite songs, at least 10.
2. Write about 5 of these songs. Please print and bring to class.
- Explain why you chose them, what this song means to you (why you like it), and why it's a part of the soundtrack to your life. (graded 10 pts, at least a couple sentences per song)

- Makes sense
- 2-3 sentences per song
- Hard Copy Printed in Class
- When you burn your CD make sure you have a list of the song names b/c when you burn CDs it usually comes up as Track One etc..
3. Have pictures on your computer that relate to you and your life soundtrack.
Day 1 In-Class Activities
1. Musical chairs (Limbo if there is time)
2. Design album cover on computer.
3. Talk about lyrics with similes and metaphors.
4. Switch Cd's with someone in the class. Listen to their song choices.
Homework Day 1:
Write one paragraph about the CD that you received from the other person. Can be anything. (examples, this song was my favorite because, this song relates to me because, this song makes me feel like...) Please bring a hard copy. (10 pts.)

Different sounds of music.
Day 2 In-Class Activities:
1. Cha Cha Slide
2. Put on playlist of random songs. Play a song and make up a dance to how it makes you feel. Split into 2 groups. Prize for the best dance group.
3. Write what comes to mind when you listen to the songs, share with the group.
